The tabs open on your computer, listed on your phone.

exceeder can sync with the cognira account. Once it does, Home on the phone grows a section called “On your computer”: the pages open in that browser, and a way to send a link back to it.

§ 01

Nothing shows until a computer opts in

The section is absent until at least one exceeder has phone sync turned on. Most people never see an empty box. When one has, Home lists its tabs, the front tab of each window first, five of them until you ask for the rest. The computer’s name is the machine name, with “exceeder on” taken off. Two computers means two chips, and you pick which list you are looking at.

Tap a tab and the page opens on the phone. The list reloads when you pull to refresh, and when you come back to the app. The line under the computer says when those tabs were last reported.

§ 02

Send a link the other way

Copy a link on the phone. The whole clipboard has to be the address, a normal http or https URL. Then tap send on that computer’s card. exceeder opens it there in a moment. If the clipboard is a sentence with a link inside it, the app asks you to copy the link on its own.

The other direction is a notification. A page you send from exceeder to the phone arrives on the channel “Pages from your computer”. Tapping it opens the page, including the tap that launched the app. Notifications have to be allowed. The same permission covers the 7pm streak reminder.

§ 03

It is the account, not a cable

Sync goes through the cognira account, the one you signed the app into. exceeder itself is the browser at cognira.dev/exceeder, free for Windows and for Apple silicon Macs. The phone never reads a page you did not open, and the tab list is titles and addresses of tabs already open in your own exceeder.
