§ 01
Press the shortcut on anything long
Ctrl Shift . opens the cognira bar (so does the spark in the toolbar): a glow runs round the page and cognira waits in a pill at the bottom. Press it again, or Esc, to close it. On a readable page, three buttons sit above the pill:
- Summarize this page: the gist in a few bullets.
- Key takeaways: what actually matters.
- Explain it simply: no jargon.
§ 02
Right-click the word you don’t know
Select a word or a sentence, right-click it and choose Ask cognira about “…”. The bar opens and cognira explains what you selected; follow up in the bar if you want it in the context of the page. Right-click the page itself and Summarize this page with cognira is there too, one step shorter than the first button.
§ 03
Hand it the clicking
The bar takes instructions as well as questions. Type what you want done on the page in front of you (fill in this form with my details, add the blue one in medium to my cart, find the cancellation page) and cognira does it one step at a time: it clicks, types and scrolls where you can watch, and says what it is doing as it goes.
Anything that would send, buy or delete stops and asks first, with Allow and Stop buttons, and you can stop it at any point. It never reads what is typed in password fields.
§ 04
Ask from the new tab page
Under the search box on the new tab page there is an Ask cognira button. Type a question and press it instead of Enter: the question goes to cognira rather than to Google. With nothing typed, it just opens the bar.
§ 05
Leave the page out when you don’t need it
Next to the quick buttons, the bar shows the page it can read, with a tick beside it. Untick it and your next questions go without the page, which is quicker for anything that has nothing to do with it. exceeder remembers your choice.
With or without it, nothing is read until you ask, and a page you ask about is not saved with your chat. Everything you ask in the bar is in your cognira.dev history, so a conversation started beside a page can carry on anywhere.
